How to Root LG Esteem

                                              

Want to enjoy Root-only apps on your LG Esteem smartphone? No problem, here’s a guide for you to root your phone and enjoy the apps that are available only for the rooted phones.

I. Before You Begin:

1. The warranty of your phone will be voided once you root it. You can get back the warranty by either applying stock firmware or unrooting your phone, however.
2. Make sure your phone is charged at least 60%.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Download the LG Drivers from here.
2. Download the Rooting Package from here.

III. Rooting LG Esteem Smartphone:

1. Place all the downloaded files onto your Desktop,
2. Extract files from both the archives to your Desktop.
3. Install the LG Drivers which you got from the archive.
4. Enable USB debugging on your phone by heading to Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>Development>>USB debugging.
5. Connect your phone to your PC using the USB cable that came with it.
6. Launch the rooting tool by double-clicking on run.bat file.
It will begin rooting your phone and once done, you will get a message on your screen.
You have successfully achieved root access on your LG Esteem smartphone. Now, you can install your favorite apps on your phone which require root access.

How to Root the Motorola Atrix 2


                                     
If you’re looking for a high-end Android smartphone and that too from Motorola, the Motorola Atrix 2 could be perfect for you. Featuring a 1GHz processor and 1GB of RAM, you’ll never run out of resources while playing those high-graphics games. If you already own this smartphone but can’t get the root-only apps to work on it, here’s how you can make them work. The following procedure shows you how you can root your Motorola Atrix 2 to get the root-only apps working on it. Here you go:

I. Before You Begin:

1. This will void the warranty of your device. You should be able to reclaim the warranty by unrooting the device.
2. Your PC must be running on any Windows OS.
3. Your device must be running on the Android 2.3.6. The following procedure doesn’t work on other versions.
4. You should have Drivers for your device installed on your PC.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Root Package (It’s attached in the first, under 2.3.6 subheading)

III. Rooting the Motorola Atrix 2:

1. Place the Root Package archive on your Desktop.
2. Extract files from the Root Package archive to your Desktop. Do NOT touch any files just yet.
3. Enable the USB debugging option on your device from Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>Development>>USB debugging.
4. Turn ON the Unknown sources option as well from Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>Unknown sources.
5. Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.
6. Make sure to choose Charge only mode as the Connection type.
7. Now, go to the Desktop of your PC and double-click on the file named Click-To-Root.bat.
8. It should initiate the rooting process and when it’s done, you’ll be notified.
9. And you’re rooted now!
Congrats! It was so easy to root the Atrix 2 smartphone using the Single Click Method described above. It just took a few clicks to get the job done and you must be happy with your rooted phone now!

How to Install ClockworkMod Recovery on the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V


                                    
Now that you have rooted your Xperia Neo V, the next logical step of course is flashing ClockworkMod Recovery to start trying all those custom ROMs available for the device.  Read on to know how to do this:

I.  Before You Begin

1.  This method works on the Xperia Neo V running Android 4.0.4.
2.  You need to be rooted for this procedure to work.  Read up our post here on how to do this before you proceed any further.

II.  Necessary Downloads

III.  Installing ClockworkMod Recovery on the Xperia Neo V

1.  Enable USB Debugging on your device. You can do this by heading to Settings > Applications > USB Debugging and checking the tickbox next to it.
2.  Connect your device to your Windows PC.
3.  Extract CWM-Install.rar to a folder on your desktop.
4.  From the extracted folder, run install-cwm1.cmd.
5.  Follow the on-screen instructions.
Once complete, your device will be running ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.7-nAa-r2!!

How to Root the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V (MT11i) running Android 4.0.4 with a locked bootloader


                                         
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo recently got updated to Android 4.0 and while that is great news, it broke root access for many users.  This guide will show you how to fix that and regain root – read on to know how.

I.  Before You Begin

1.  This procedure works on the Xperia Neo V with a locked bootloader running Android 4.0.4.  If you have an unlocked bootloader, look to our post on the same to know how to root it.
2.  Remember to back up your data before you proceed any further!
3.  Make sure you have set up ADB before you proceed with this guide.  If you haven’t, read up on our post on how to do this.

II.  Necessary Downloads

1.  .431 Firmware (download the .431 ftf firmware for your device and save it to your computer)
3. .562 Kernel tft (download the .562 ftf firmware for your device and save it to your computer)
3. Root zip (download the .zip file under downloads)

III.  Flashing the .431 Firmware

1.  Double-click on flashtool .exe you downloaded above and follow the on-screen instructions to install it.
2.  Copy  both .ftf files you downloaded above to C:\Flashtool\firmwares on your harddrive.
3.  Open the Flashtool application after installation and click on the Flash icon (the one with the thunder symbol).
4.  You should be presented with two options:  Flashmode and Fastboot Mode.  Select Flashmode.
5.  Choose the kernel with the version number .431 in it and click on OK.  Follow the on-screen instructions on how to boot your device into fasboot mode and connect your device. Also, make sure”No Final Verification” is marked
6.  Reboot device.
This will have flashed your kernel back to .431 which is rootable.

IV.  Flashing the MT11i_4.1.A.0.562 Kernel

1.  Follow the same steps as described in Section III above until Step 5.
2.  On Step 5, select MT11i_4.1.A.0.562 instead of MT11i_4.1.B.0.431.
3.  Continue with the rest of the steps as in Section III.
You should now have an Xperia Neo running the .431 firmware but running a .562 kernel.

V.  Rooting the Xperia Neo V

1.  Enable USB Debugging on your device.  You can do this by heading to Settings > Applications > USB Debugging and checking the tickbox next to it.
2.  Enable installation of non-Market applications.  To do this, go to Settings > Applications and check the Unknown Sources tickbox.
3.  Connect your device to your Windows PC.
4.  Extract the DooMLoRD_v1_Xperia-2011-ICS-ROOT-emu-busybox-su.zip that you downloaded above to a folder on your desktop.
5.  From the extracted folder, double-click on runme.bat to run the DooMLoRD tool.
6.  Follow the on-screen instructions and wait for the process to be complete (your device will reboot several times during the procedure).

How to Unroot the Sony Xperia Tipo ST21i


                                       
Have you been facing issues with your rooted Sony Xperia Tipo ST21i smartphone and want to take it to the service center? No problem, do so but first unroot the device as it’ll restore the warranty that you lost after rooting the device. At the service center, your request will only be considered if your warranty’s alive and that can be done by unrooting the device. So, let’s see how you can unroot your Xperia Tipo ST21i smartphone.

I. Before You Begin:

1. You must have rooted your device using the procedure given here. If you used any other method to root the device, the following procedure may or may not work for you.
2. The following procedure works on Windows based PCs only.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Root Package (Download link’s given in the first post)

III. Unrooting the Sony Xperia Tipo ST21i:

1. Place the Root Package archive on the Desktop of your PC.
2. Unzip files from the archive and place them on your Desktop.
3. Enable USB debugging on your device by going to Menu>>Settings>>Developer options>>USB debugging.
4. Now, connect the device to your PC via USB cable.
5. Launch the Root Tool by double-clicking on RunMe.bat file you have on your Desktop.
6. If it asks to choose the mode, choose Normal mode.
7. Select Unroot option in the tool and continue.
8. Follow any instructions you see on your screen.
9. Once unrooting’s done, reboot the device.
10. You’re all done!
Congrats! Your device has been successfully unrooted and your warranty’s now back. Now, you won’t have any issues bringing the device to the service center.

How to Root the Motorola RAZR HD XT925


                                          
Motorola has brought an option for the users who want to try out the latest ultra-fast 4G network by launching a 4G enabled smartphone named as Motorola RAZR HD XT925. The smartphone sports a large 4.7″ inch screen with HD resolution of 720×1280 and the rest of the specifications include a dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of Internal storage. Rooting the device is now possible, all thanks to the XDA developers for bringing us an easy method to unlock the true potential of the device. In the following guide, we’ve put together all the steps you should follow to gain root access on your device. So, let’s see how you can root your Motorola RAZR HD XT925 smartphone.

I. Before You Begin:

1. This will void the warranty of the device. However, you can reinstate the warranty by unrooting the device if there’s any unrooting procedure available.
2. This works on Windows based PCs only.
3. The following procedure is intended to work on Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
4. You should have appropriate drivers installed on your PC.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Root Package (It’s attached in the first post)

III. Rooting the Motorola RAZR HD XT925:

1. Place the Root Package archive on the Desktop of your PC.
2. Extract files from the archive to your Desktop.
3. Enable the USB debugging option on your device by heading to Menu>>Settings>>Developer options>>USB debugging.
4. Connect the device to your PC via USB cable.
5. Double-click on the Run.bat file you extracted to your Desktop.
6. Follow the on-screen instructions.
7. And you should be rooted now!
Wonderful! Your device is now rooted and you can confirm the root access by simply downloading the Root Checker app.
