How to Install ClockworkMod Recovery on the Huawei MediaPad

I. Before You Begin:

1. You must have rooted your device before doing this procedure. Please head to our How to Root the Huawei MediaPad procedure first, finish it, then return to this procedure and continue.
2. This should install the Test Version of CWM Recovery on your device.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. ClockworkMod Recovery Image (It’s attached there in the first post)

III. Installing ClockworkMod Recovery on the Huawei MediaPad:

1. Download and place both the files on your Desktop.
2. Extract files from the Fastboot archive to your Desktop. You should have adb.exe and fastboot.exe files on your Desktop.
3. Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.
4. Open a Command Prompt Window on the Desktop of your PC. To do so, press and hold the Shift key on your keyboard and right-click on any empty area on the screen, then choose Open command window here.
5. Type in the following commands into the Command Prompt Window you just opened. Press Enter after each line.
fastboot flash recovery recovery-5.8.0.9-HWMOD-eabi-4.4.3.img
fastboot flash recovery2 recovery-5.8.0.9-HWMOD-eabi-4.4.3.img
fastboot reboot
6. Your device should reboot after the recovery is installed on it.
Well done! You now have a working version of ClockworkMod Recovery on your device that will allow you to flash custom ROMs as well as backup current ROM. We recommend you to take a look at the original thread, there’re some important instructions given by the developer.

HOW TO ROOT THE HUAWEI MEDIAPAD

I. Before You Begin:

1. You must be running on the Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich.
2. You are going to void the warranty of your device by rooting it. Keep this in mind and go ahead.
3. Make sure that your PC has Drivers installed for your device.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Root Package (Download link’s given in the first post)

III. Rooting the Huawei MediaPad:

1. Download and place the Root Package archive on your Desktop.
2. Extract files from the Root Package to your Desktop.
3. Turn USB debugging ON on your device from Menu>>Settings>>Developer options>>USB debugging.
4. Connect the device to your PC using the USB cable.
5. Double-click on the Install Root.cmd file you just extracted from the Root Package.
6. Your device should reboot about three times. It is normal.
7. And you’re done!
Your MediaPad has successfully been rooted and the SuperUser app is now there in your App Drawer. It was so easy to root the device, wasn’t it?

How to Root the Huawei Ascend II (Straight Talk)


                                            
If you happen to own the Huawei Ascend II device from Straight Talk, you’ll be glad to know that a root method is available for the device that will unlock true capabilities of the device and you’ll then be able to install apps available exclusively for rooted phones. Rooting also opens gates for custom recoveries that you can flash on your device, it’s a whole different thing, though. The first step towards customizing an Android device is rooting the device and in the following guide, we’ve shown how you can root your Huawei Ascend II (Straight Talk) smartphone. Follow all the steps carefully and you should have success.

I. Before You Begin:

1. This should void the warranty of the device. However, it can be reinstate by unrooting the device if there’s any unrooting procedure available.
2. Make sure your device has at least 60% of battery life left.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Poot APK (Download link’s given in the first post, in step-1)
2. Miinistro II APK (Download link’s given in the first post, in step-2)

III. Rooting the Huawei Ascend II (Straight Talk):

1. Download and place both the APKs onto your Desktop.
2. Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.
3. Copy both the APKs over to the root of your SD card.
4. Once the APKs are copied, unplug the device from your PC.
5. On your device, head to Menu>>Settings>>Security and enable Unknown sources option.
6. Now, open File Manager and install both the APKs one by one.
7. Once both are installed, launch the Poot app first.
8. It’ll download some library files so you’ve to wait for a few minutes.
9. Once it’s done, tap the button labeled as Press here to poot.
10. It’ll begin rooting the device.
11. Once it’s done, reboot the device.
12. Open the Poot app once again and tap the button labeled as Built-in root check.
13. After the root access is confirmed, head over to Google Play and install the Superuser app.
14. You’re all done!
Well done! Your device has been successfully rooted and you can now install any of your favorite root-only apps, you just have to grant permission to the app to access system level files!

How to Root the Huawei Ascend Y H866C



Huawei Ascend Y H866C is a CDMA smartphone by Straight Talk that runs Android as its operating system and provides users Gingerbread experience. The device doesn’t have too solid specifications, but it’s got a 600MHz processor, 3MP Camera and the normal connectivity options that include Bluetooth and USB. If you’ve purchased this device and wondering if you could root it, well, it’s possible as a root method has popped-up on the XDA Forums that claims to root the device for allowing installation of root-only apps and eventually a custom recovery. This guide will show you how you can root your Huawei Ascend Y H866C smartphone, follow all the steps and you should have root access on your device.

I. Before You Begin:

2. Your device should have at least 50% of battery life left.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Poot APK (Download link’s given in the first post)

III. Rooting the Huawei Ascend Y H866C:

1. Download and place the Poot APK file onto your Desktop.
2. Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.
3. Copy the APK file over to the root of your SD card.
4. Once copied, unplug the device from your PC.
5. Open the File Manager on your device and tap on the APK file and install it.
6. Once installed, launch it from your App Drawer.
7. It’ll download some required files, so allow it to do so.
8. Once done, close the app.
9. Launch the app once again from your App Drawer.
10. This time, hit the Poot button and it’ll run some codes.
11. Once done, reboot your device.
12. Head over to Google Play and download the Superuser app.
13. You’re rooted now!
Excellent! Your Huawei Ascend Y H866C has been successfully rooted and you can now install some root-only apps on it to save it from dying!

How to Root the Huawei Activa 4G


China based company Huawei has entered the LTE market of U.S. by presenting the Huawei Activa 4G smartphone. The company had been doing pretty well in almost all corners of the world, however, it was absent in the LTE market but with the support of MetroPCs, we’re now seeing a Huawei device running on the ultra-fast LTE network in the States. If you happen to own this device but just don’t like the restrictions it comes with because of its OS, you better root the device. Root is similar to that Jailbreak, it removes all the restrictions imposed by the manufacturer and lets you have freedom to make it what you want it to be. To learn how to root your Huawei Activa 4G, follow our guide below.

I. Before You Begin:

1. This should void the warranty of your device. However, you’ll be able to get the warranty back by either unrooting the device or installing the stock firmware.
2. You must have installed ADB on your PC. See our guide to learn how to do so.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Root Package (Download link’s given in the first post)

III. Rooting the Huawei Activa 4G:

1. Download and place the Root Package archive on your Desktop. Do NOT extract it, just leave it as is.
2. Connect your device to your PC via USB cable.
3. Copy the update.zip file you just downloaded over to the root of your SD card.
4. Disconnect the device from your PC.
5. Enable the USB debugging option on your device by going to Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>Development>>USB debugging, tick-mark the box.
6. Once enabled, connect the device to your PC using the USB cable.
7. Launch a Command Prompt Window in the folder where you’ve installed ADB, it’s the folder where adb.exe file exists. Right-click on any empty area on the screen while holding down the Shift button, a menu should appear, choose Open command window here.
8. Type in following command into the Command Prompt Window:
adb reboot recovery
9. The device should reboot into the Recovery mode.
10. Once inside the recovery, select update from SD card.
11. Select the update.zip file you copied to your SD card.
12. It should take some time to flash the file.
13. Once it’s done, reboot the device.
14. And you’re rooted!
Brilliant! Your phone has been successfully rooted and you now have access to much more features on your device than what you had before!

Chinese telecom-equipment maker, Huawei, has officially launched its MediaPad 7 Lite tablet in India. This has to be one of the few budget slates sporting a metal-clad body. Another aspect that sets it apart from the other 7" tablets, is the onboard 3G slot and voice calling capability. On the software front, the MediaPad 7 Lite offersAndroid 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) out of the box. Moving on to its specs, you get a 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 CPU, coupled with 1 GB of RAM. Here is the complete list of features:

For the price, you can easily get a dual-core Android tablet, however, not many of them will feature phone functionality. Moreover, its IPS panel is any day better than the washed out screens that most budget tablets offer. Therefore, if you're not hell bent on buying a dual-core tablet, then the MediaPad 7 Lite deserves to be on your wish list.
